FASHION PAKISTAN COUNCIL CONDUCTED 5TH FASHION PAKISTAN WEEK 2013

The Fashion Pakistan Council held 5^th FASHION PAKISTAN WEEK (FPW 5, 2013) on 9^th and 10^th April 2013 at pearl Continental Karachi.

The 5^th Fashion Pakistan Week has showcase spring/summer collections of 27 mainstream and upcoming designers in the following manner.

The Fashion Pakistan Council in its 5^th Fashion Pakistan Week showed determination to achieve its objective to foster and promote the Pakistan Fashion Industry both locally as well as internationally, encourage excellence in design, and build alliance with associations both within and outside Pakistan.

Before the event took place SHAMAEEL ANSARI the chairperson speaking about FPW 5 and said. “As we move towards the 5^th iteration of Fashion Pakistan Week, we are pleased to see the success this platform has achieved in just over 5 years. This year, apart from the well-established names, specifically for FPW 5 we look forward to showcasing collections from a significant number of newer emerging talents. Further, we are proud to announce a 35 per cent surge in membership from Lahore and Islamabad based designers, which is heartening for the Pakistani Fashion industry as it provides discerning fashion consumers with more choice and provides greater exposure to fashion designers in other cities.”

The team/management of Fashion Pakistan Council promotes retail brands within the domestic market through their Fashion Week Platform and stores, and to eventually encourage and facilitate the export of Pakistani brands to International Fashion Houses. Further, as per their commitment of highlighting Pakistani Fashion to an International audience, Council Members will be participating in the Singapore Exhibition by Fashion Pakistan Council which is scheduled to be held at the prestigious Tanglin Club in Singapore. To facilitate the customers and make the designer collection available, the council introduced first standalone multi-brand flagship store FPL in Lahore 2009 and a second store in Karachi 2012. Their flagship store currently retails over 18 designers, both mainstream and upcoming, situated in the heart of Lahore’s centre, GULBERG.

The 5^TH FASHION PAKISTAN SHOW was a successful and outstanding show attended by local as well international buyers, celebrities, media & socialites the event started with glamorous red carpet, featured fashion presentation and the showcasing of designers collection by the top notch 35 professional models (21 female, 14 male) which includes ABEER ADEEL, SANA KHAN, NADIA HUSSAIN, RUBYA CHAUDRY, HIRA TAREEN, AYYAN ALI, MANNAL-E-FIZZA and others. Additionally, it also celebrated the achievements of participating fashion talent through 3 illustrious awards. Member designers of the council judged Pakistani fashion talent   during the show. 1) The Emerging Talent Award, 2) The Diamond Designer Award went to MAHEEN KHAN 3) The Best Collection Award, went to the credit of EMRAAN RAJPUT, this award was based on voting done via the council’s Face book page.
