AIFD “FASHION CRIT” FOR BACHELOR (HONS) PROGRAM 2013
The event was held on 4th
June 2013 at AIFD campus, Clifton Karachi. ASIAN INSTITUTE OF
FASHION DESIGN organized the “FASH ION CRIT”
for the final year students to exhibit their thesis project at the end of the
Bachelor (HONS) program.
Since more than a decade, ASIAN INSTITUTE of FAHION DESIGN
is producing graduates, it is an exclusive unique training centre of
professional excellence and technical competence, providing their students a
competitive edge in the market by minimizing the gap between theory and
practice. There are many leading and well known designers in the country and
abroad who are the degree holder from AIFD.
To explore the creative side of the students and before the
end of the Bachelor (HONS) program AIFD want to groom and educate students all
the theoretical and practical approaches, and for this purpose the showcase of
fashion collection display was organized. Each student has researched and
developed their themes with their own inspirations developing 5 garments at the
end of the last year of their Bachelor (HONS) program. Each student will be
presenting their work in detail based of the latest international trends
forecasted in the fashion and textile industry.
The work done by the students proved that they were confident
and aware about their limitations work standards and need of the consumer. The
AIFD students have worked on their collection for the last one year. Finally
the collection presented for summer 2013 was a statement of finesse, which is
technically executed into aesthetically sound garments.
21 students participated at “FASHION CRIT” and each student
was provided an independent enclosure for the display of their
collection/dresses. The stalls gave a look as the Top/seasoned designers are
showcasing their garments. The following 21 are the upcoming designers/participant.

AMIN, HINA BATOOL, MARIAM AHMED, MEHRUNNISA, M.RAHIMUDDIN, MUZNA SHAUKAT, NABIA
FAHIM, NOOR-E-HIRA, PAIKER RAZA, RUBAB
ASHIQ, SHIRMEEN, SUMERAHANIF, SUMERA KANWAL, SYED HUSSAIN RAZA, TOOBA
AZIZ, WALEED AHMED and ZAINAB ABID.
To give the authenticity and make the AIFD Bachelor (HONS)
program more and more acceptable all over world, the renowned personalities
from the Media and Fashion Industry MR. SOHAIL JAVED, MADAM TEHMINA KHALID and
MADAM SADIA KAUSAR were invited to critique on the student garments design,
aesthetics, technicality and execution.
In the end MADAM NIDA KHURRAM (head of department, fashion
design AIFD) wish the students with the following words.
“I wish all the best to my students and wish them for a
brighter future in this industry, each one of them is highly skilled,
competitive and energetic.”
