The highly anticipated film "Babylicious," directed by Umer Essa Khan and produced by Coconut Productions, had its star-studded premiere at Nueplex Cinemas in DHA, Karachi. The red-carpet event witnessed the presence of renowned celebrities and esteemed actors from the Pakistani entertainment and media industry.  

  News of legendary Pakistani cricketer and former captain Wasim Akram's film debut in 'Money Back Guarantee' - a much-awaited Pakistani movie directed by a renowned television host, film/video producer and actor Faisal Qureshi, who also stars in his directorial debut - has been creating a palpable buzz in entertainment circles since the film’s trailer and poster launch in February 2023.

Pakistan's film industry continues to make its mark on the global map in 2023. NOOR , directed by Umer Adil and launched on the OTT platform See Prime, has won the “Best Health Film" award in the January online edition of the Cannes World Film Festival. ‘Noor,’ which tackles the stigma around weak eyesight, is scripted by Farah Usman and stars Sarwat Gilani, Omair Rana, Tanisha Shameem, Mizna Waqas, and Tasneem Ansari in pivotal roles.

In yet another achievement, the global blockbuster The Legend of Maula Jatt completes its 100 days of screening in theaters across Pakistan. Prior to hitting its 100-day run in theatres, the film also surpassed the unbelievable milestone of 100+ Crore in Pakistan, along with collecting 10 million USD at the worldwide box office on the last day of 2022.

Zoha Rahman , an accomplished and talented actress, has recently achieved a major milestone in her career. Her latest short film, Eid Mubarak, has been acquired by Disney's Creator+ for their ‘Flip the Script’ Short Film Fund. This is a significant achievement as it means that the film will be featured on a popular international platform and have the opportunity to reach a wide audience.

For the first time urdu dubbed Turkish movie rocked small screen in Pakistan. Zarb-e-Momin was screened privately at Nueplex Cinemas Karachi. The premiere was attended by the who’s who of the cinema and TV industry. The Urdu dubbed Turkish movie Zarb-e-Momin took the audience through a roller coaster ride of thrill, action, suspense, excitement, apprehension and passion.

The Pakistani Academy Selection Committee has selected “Zinda Bhaag” as the first Pakistani film in over fifty years to be submitted for Oscar consideration in the 'Foreign Language Film Award’ category at the 86 th Academy Awards. A total of four films were submitted to the committee for consideration including Chambeli, Josh and Lamha (Seedlings) in addition to Zinda Bhaag. The movie was selected by way of a secret ballot and was the overwhelming film of choice of the Committee members. As per standard practice, films selected by each individual country's Academy selection committee are submitted to the Academy for screening, shortlisting and voting with official Oscar nominees announced at a later date.
