FASHION INDUSTRY PAKISTAN PROGRESSED IN 2012

It was 2012 a year you can notice that the Fashion Industry in Pakistan has grown tremendously. The year 2012 saw the impact full entry of new players while old ones upped their game.

It was before the year 2012 starts, that you become worried and always feel confused as what to wear to super formal sit-down dinners. Vow it’s not a matter of worry after the opening of Fashion stores almost in every Mall in the city . It will be easy to check out by moving around and simply visiting the some renowned boutique in the city where your worries will be over. However, the best selection for sit-down Dinners is a shift dress/kameez, but the dresses should have decent colorful prints and paired with gold/artificial jewllery which always makes you good looking and there is lot of comforts.

Since our Fashion Industry is progressing and specially there are two strong fashion platforms in Pakistan, Fashion Pakistan Week in Karachi and PFDC prĂȘt and bridal weeks in Lahore, they have held various Fashion Shows in 2012.

FASHION PAKISTAN WEEK

In 2012 after two years the return of Fashion Pakistan Council endorsed Fashion Pakistan Week and held two Fashion Weeks. The first Fashion Week was held in April 2012 featuring all the bigwigs from Sana Safinaz and umer sayeed to Nomi Asari and Deepak Perwani. Further its new CEO, Shamaeel Ansari organized second Fashion Week in October with the Autumn/Winter edition.

PFDC FASHION WEEK

The Pakistan Fashion Design Council organized one PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week earlier in the year and lately held the PFDC L’ Oreal Bridal Week In the year 2013. We are expecting some more and big events by this two strong Fashion Platforms, and awaiting for new break through as good number of PR and Marketing company’s has come forward to organize such events

It is also to be noted that the major happenings of the year was the PDFC made inroads into India with a flagship store in Delhi. The store conceived in collaboration with Indian fashion entrepreneur Mini Bandra was inaugurated in September with a Fashion showcase featuring 18 Pakistani designers The store will present the perfect medium for local designer to present the Pakistani aesthetic that is marginally distinctive from the Indian one in its use of colors, silhouettes and embroideries. The store not only features PFDC affiliated designers but offers up names like Rizwan Beyg, Sana Safinaz and Ayesha Hashwani as well. Fashion show held at the opening of the store in Delhi featured Mahira Khan, Quratt-ul-Ain Baloch and Sonya Jehan which bought glamour and prestige to the store. Moreover, its designers are talking about reinventing their business. However, the Fashion Industry of Pakistan has to realize that there is a long way to go before they can enter to the rest of World Fashion Market, or even just India.

ONLINE RETAILING INTRODUCED.

The phenomenon of online shopping was not popular in Pakistan till the starting of 2012. In the same year Pakistan got its very own version of net-a-porter in the form of Labels eStore. It brought all the mainstream big names just a few clicks away from the reach of consumers from North America to Far East.
To run the online business the biggest problem for the designer was mass availability of their products, which was not financially feasible for a designer to have a flagship store in more than one or two cities. However, advent of multi-designer houses solved the issue to some extent but even their presence is limited to major cities..

 SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCE FASHION WORLD.

The latest development in 2012 is the introduction of social media and newly found fashion bloggers club in the Fashion Industry. The SOCIAL MEDIA were intrinsic part of fashion affairs as PR agencies realized their online clout and kept them in the loop. It’s a complete new dynamic and with the passage of time it will be more influential as Pakistan fashion Industry grows and catches up with the world. Despite our bloggers are new in this field and are lacking that key ingredient. They have become a force as they tweeted, blogged and made Facebook pages. They have covered fashion Pakistan week to PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week and PFDC L’Oreal Bridal Week to product launches and collection displays, live from the venues, spotted red carpet trends, updated minute by minute and their presence felt loud and clear. Finally the fact is that the young fashion lovers who will log in to their account can read and keep themselves updated about fashion world in Pakistan, launch of new products and the latest collection on displays at stores. Fariah Altaf CEO of Catalyst & PR Marketing always made sure that her events had full coverage of SOCIAL MEDIA.
